The meeting took place on Tuesday, 9 January 2024, and delved into collaboration opportunities between the MCCI and the UN.

Discussions involved collaborative initiatives with the UN, focusing on issues such as climate change, with both parties acknowledging the need for concerted efforts to address environmental concerns while ensuring sustainable economic growth.

Human capital and competence were also discussed, as well as the need to have a skilled and competent workforce to drive innovation and competitiveness.

Empowering youth and women, an integral component of a thriving society, wasalso on the agenda, with a particular emphasis on how the private sector can play a role in ensuring inclusivity and equal opportunities.

The MCCI expressed a firm commitment to collaborate closely with H.E Lisa Simrique Singh and the UN Resident Coordinator's office on three major fronts: economic transformation, environmental sustainability, and capacity building.

This collaborative effort will not only strengthen ties between the private sector and the UN but also lead to concrete initiatives that positively impact the country, while shaping a sustainable economic landscape for the region.
