Amendments to the Consumer Protection Maximum Mark-up Regulations

The Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Protection has amended the Consumer Protection (Consumer Goods) (Maximum Mark-Up) Regulations 1998 providing for a ‘Special Allowance’ of 6% for some categories of products namely adult diapers, basmati rice, long grain rice, butter, margarine and processed cheese.

The new regulations (Government Notice No. 95/2020) have come into operation on 21 May 2020.
