Introduction of Price Control on Essential Products

The Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Protection has amended the Consumer Protection (Consumer Goods) (Maximum Mark-up) Regulations 2020 introducing price control on a number of new products including basmati rice, pulses, butter/margarine, cheese, pulses, pasta and hygiene products.

The new regulations are effective as from 25 April 2020 and will apply to all imports cleared from MRA Customs as from this date.
