Economy 25 Jun 2021

During a press conference today Friday 25th June 2021, the President of the Financial Action Task Force, Dr Marcus Pleyer, addressed the issue of Mauritius, placed on the European Union’s grey list, since May 2020.

“The FATF agreed that Botswana and Mauritius have both substantially completed their action plans at a technical level. Delegates have now authorized on-site visits to both those countries in order to check the progress made”, said Dr Marcus Pleyer, thus recognizing Mauritius’ efforts. He further added that the visits will take place as soon as the conditions allow it. A final report is due to be submitted in October.
