A ten-member MCCI delegation led by Secretary General Dr. Drishtysingh Ramdenee participated in the 20th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) India Africa Business Conclave in New Delhi, from Wednesday 27 to Friday 29 August 2025. The delegation comprised members from the medical, pharmaceutical, and financial services sectors, amongst others.
The three-day conclave, themed "Co-Creating a SHARED Future," brought together approximately 3,000 participants and featured high-level sessions on energy sustainability, financial partnerships, supply chains, private sector expansion in Africa, critical minerals, sustainable mobility, human capital development, digital transformation, healthcare, and agriculture.
Michael Sik Yuen, Minister of Commerce and Consumer Protection, and Jyoti Jeetun, Minister of Financial Services and Economic Planning, also attended the Conclave. Minister Jyoti Jeetun participated in the session on financial partnerships, presenting Mauritius as a key platform for Indo-African investments.
Beyond the main event, the MCCI delegation conducted bilateral meetings with key partners namely:
Invest India: Discussions focused on three strategic sectors - pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and the Institutional Investors Initiative. Invest India proposed follow-up online sessions to present specific opportunities to Mauritian companies considering India as an investment destination and requested feedback from MCCI members active in pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI): The delegation met with PHDCCI, with whom MCCI signed an MoU in November 2023, to explore activation of collaborative initiatives and identify concrete partnership projects.
The mission underscores MCCI's role in positioning Mauritius as a hub in the India-Maurice-Africa corridor, leveraging the Chamber's 175-year legacy in creating business opportunities and facilitating B2B connections for its members through exclusive international partnerships.
