Business updates

The 171st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the MCCI was held today, Thursday 23rd July 2020, at the Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel, Caudan, Port-Louis.

The outgoing President, Mr. Marday Venkatasamy G.O.S.K, delivered a speech on the State of the Economy. Dr. the Hon. Renganaden Padayachy, Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, the Hon. Nandcoomar Bodha G.C.S.K, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, the Hon. Soomilduth Bholah, Minister of Industrial Development, SMEs and Cooperatives and the Hon. Yogida Sawmynaden, Minister of Commerce and Consumer Protection, also addressed the audience on this occasion.

New council members were also elected. Mr. Guillaume Hugnin, from Panagora Marketing Co. Ltd. (Commerce Group) will serve the Council as President. Mrs. Namita Jagarnath Hardowar, from Institutional Expert Services (Other Business Services Group) has been elected as Vice-President.
