Awareness Session on Online Application for Import Permits for Plant and Plant Products

The MCCI organised an awareness session for its Members on the online application procedures for import permits and clearances at the National Plant Protection Office (NPPO) which will become effective on 1st October 2018. The awareness session was held on Thursday 20 September 2018 and representatives from the NPPO, MRA Customs and the Mauritius Network Services (MNS) were invited to present the new online procedures.
Members present had the opportunity to raise their concerns and were apprised that with the new system, the applications for import permits and clearances at the NPPO would be processed within the agreed timeframe.
The awareness session was attended by some 30 operators.
As part of integrating all government agencies issuing permits and clearances on the online platform of the Mauritius Trade Link (Single Window), the NPPO will be the fifth government agency to be hooked on the system.
