GS1 Mauritius participates in GS1 General Assembly 2017

The GS1 General Assembly was held in London, United Kingdom on 15 - 18 May 2017.

 

During the event, it was announced that the strategic priorities for 2017 - 2018 will focus on :

 

  • - The Big Picture Project, which will simplify the GS1 offering for our stakeholders and will help companies of all sizes grow their business and become more efficient.
  • - The GS1 Data Strategy with its GS1 Cloud aims to be the largest source of trusted product information in the world.
  • - Financial services by working with Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) to issue Legal Entity Identifiers to all financial market participants.

 

Furthermore, in light of the General Assembly, several plenary sessions were organised on hot topics where GS1 standards have transformed industries, namely retail and healthcare. 

 

Compelling speakers from NHS have apprised participants on 'Innovation in UK healthcare' and 'Improving patient outcomes, efficiency and financial benefits', whilst topics on retail sector were addressed by eminent speakers from Nestlé UK & Ireland, Alibaba Europe and Tesco amongst others.

 

Mr Raju Jaddoo, the Secretary-General MCCI and Chief Executive Officer of GS1(MAURITIUS) LTD, who participated in the event had the opportunity to network further with GS1 colleagues around the world and share knowledge.
