Signing of Partnership between the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the Africa Business Council (AfBC)

17 Feb 2022

The International Trade Centre (ITC) signed a partnership with the Africa Business Council (AfBC) on 16 February 2022 to empower African enterprises especially women and youth.

The objective of the ITC One Trade Africa programme is to support the AfBC in its mandate to coordinate business support organisations across the continent and provide better services to the private sector. African enterprises will also gain access to practical information, knowledge and skills to improve competitiveness and their ability to access new opportunities using the AfCFTA among others.

The Africa Business Council, which has been launched in November 2021, is the platform for cooperation among Business Associations and Chambers of Commerce in Africa, with a view to advocating business interests through dialogues with the African Union.

The Secretariat of the Africa Business Council Regional Office for Southern Africa is being hosted by the MCCI since 20 January 2022.
