25th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting

Mauritius participates in the Commonwealth Business Forum

From 16 to 18 April 2018, the UK has hosted the Commonwealth leaders for the 25th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting; representing the interests of over 2.6 billion people. Throughout the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), 5,000 top leaders from business, politics, academia and culture came together to showcase the Commonwealth’s diverse network. 

 

With a combined GDP of US$13 trillion by 2020, it is estimated that the Commonwealth Advantage shared values, regulatory systems and language, makes trade costs on average 19% lower between Commonwealth countries.

 

The Commonwealth Business Forum is an integral part of the CHOGM and brings together businesses critical to trade and investment leadership with Government to debate the issues facing their countries in 2018 and beyond.

 

Hon. Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, participated in the event. He expressed the opportunities of using Mauritius as a hub for investment into Africa.
