Partial lifting of lockdown – Opening hours for business

27 Mar 2021

As per the Government Gazette issued on the 24th of March 2021, the lockdown will be partially lifted throughout the country as from the 31st of March 2021 at 8 pm.

Until then, only supermarkets, hypermarkets, superettes, petrol stations and other economic sectors supplying essential services and which were authorized to function as per the protocol implemented since the start of the lockdown, will be open for business.

As for the red zone (constituencies 15, 16 & 17 and Canot) meat/poultry shops and hardware stores will still be closed.

However, as from 8 am on the 1st of April, other retail outlets, as specified by the GIS communiqué issued on the 23rd of March 2021, will be open for business.

Those outlets include banks, bakeries, commercial centres, ‘magasins’, ‘arcades’, construction sites, hair parlours (not beauty parlours), medical & paramedical companies, vegetable-selling markets (‘bazar’ and not ‘la foire’) and restaurants and fast-foods supplying only home-delivery and take-away services.

With regards to the red zone, together with the above-mentioned businesses, meat/poultry shops and hardware stores will also be allowed to operate as from the 1st of April.

We wish to remind you that strict sanitary measures and social distancing must be observed at all times.
