Following representations made by the MCCI to the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, a committee chaired by the Mauritius Ports Authority was set up to find a solution to the issues raised by the private sector operators on the payment of demurrage fees on containers during the lockdown period.

The MCCI is pleased to communicate the decision of shipping lines to waive demurrage charges during lockdown period.
